*Reise nach dem Westen -- Liest ' XI Sie Ji' auf Chinesen und ist ein klassischer chinesischer mythologischer Roman. Es wurde während der Ming Dynastie geschrieben, die auf traditionellen Folktales basierte. Aus 100 Kapiteln bestehend, bezieht diese Fantasie die Abenteuer eines Priesters Sanzang der Zapfen-Dynastie (618-907) und seines drei Sch¨ıler, Affe-, Schwein-und Mönch-Sandes, da sie nach Westen auf der Suche nach buddhistischem Sutra reisen. Die ersten sieben Kapitel zählen die Geburt des Affe-Königs und seines Aufstands gegen Himmel nach. Dann in Kapiteln acht bis zwölf, erlernen wir, wie Sanzang geboren war und warum er nach den Schriften sucht, sowie seine Vorbereitungen f¨ır die Reise. Der Rest der Geschichte beschreibt, wie sie Dämonen und Monster besiegen, Vagabund ¨ıber dem brennenden Berg, nach der Überwindung vieler Gefahren, kreuzt die Milchstraße und, schließlich ankommen in ihrem Bestimmungsort - das Donner-Kloster im westlichen Himmel - und finden das Sutra.
